Empanada is a very common spanish dish. How come its part of Filipino Food? That’s because, many Filipino foods are inspired by various of cuisines which includes Spanish cuisines.
Empanada is a type of pastry that has been stuffed with either pork, beef, chicken, seafood, or veggies. Empanadas doesn’t really take that much time to prepare. However, making your own dough at home can be tougher than you think. But with perseverance, you will be able to perfect that.
Empanadas are perfect appetizers. The filling itself serves as a main course.
The empanada made in the Philippines are available in two kinds: the baked sort, and the flaky type. Personally, I prefer the flaky type empanda because it has that subtle crunch that I like, it might be a mess to eat but it is good.
The fondest memory I have of eating empanada was after every choir practice, my mom would but empanadas for us to fill our stomachs. And us, hungry children, will most probably still feel hungry after that.
I would really recommend empanada to you guys. And its up to you to judge whether or not Filipino empanada is the best.
